The Flux is a special area that is accessible only when there is no new storyline content available.
- You must have completed last area which has storyline content and gone through its exit gate.
- Each Flux has a theme that is based on the last content update.
- It is possible to enter the Flux without completing all the Nate and Det. Kaine quests.
Players who have reached the current Flux will be able to teleport to previous Fluxes and get trinkets they missed or just complete different puzzles if they get tired of the latest one. Talk to the "glitch" with the !!! over its head to teleport between Flux's.
Once you arrive in a prior Flux, you'll notice all the Devs in previous are ghostly and won't say anything, but you can watch the "studio" expand with new Devs, as they evolved over time. You will have the opportunity to meet and talk to the Avatars of the game developers in the most current version of the Flux.
After finding all 8 Flux Trinkets for a given Flux, you will whack up Flux Dust. Flux Dust can then be used to buy special Custom Items, a custom pet, or to upgrade a special "Super Trinket" that can only be obtained and upgraded in the Flux.
A major update will relocate The Flux to the end of the new content.
Players located in The Flux when new content is released will be automatically moved to The Commons, an Area zone with a teleporter, or where an unfinished Quest will resume.
Puzzles[]
- You will be rewarded a Flux Trinket for puzzles completed. After finding all 8 Flux Trinkets for a given Flux, you will whack up Flux Dust. (see below).
- If you are working on a puzzle in the most recent Flux at the time of a new content push, your puzzle pieces will transfer to the newest released Flux. (ie. partially finished flux 19.0 puzzle pieces will automatically transfer to flux 20.0 as soon as you reach the end of the new content). If you are working on a puzzle in an older Flux, don't worry, you'll be able to pick up on your puzzle where you left off.
Pro-Tip
When you have reached The Flux and you have heard of an imminent release of new content, you can setup your Flux puzzle so that upon your next entry into The Flux, you can immediately get a brand new Flux trinket.
Whack up all the 144 puzzle pieces. Partially solve the puzzle, but DO NOT fully complete it. Leave out 1 or more pieces.
FYI: Chests do not maintain between Fluxes (the tech does not support that, unless the Flux is the same zone, which it hasn't been since the Evergreen Forest).
Flux Puzzle Rewards[]
Trinkets[]
Flux trinkets are identical in appearance to the regular Trinkets you find in the game, but they have improved attributes over their counterparts. There are currently two types of descriptors that a Flux trinket can have:
- (Uncommon) - Uncommon trinkets are better than their common counterparts by one step. For example, the Flux Searing Bracer trinket increases Max Mana by +45 while, the Searing Bracer increases it by +38.
- (Rare) - Rare trinkets are superior to the common version of the trinket. For example, the Flux Gnarled Wand increases the Mana odds by 16% at level 440, while the Gnarled Wand increases Mana by 11.4% at level 440.
Flux Dust []
Flux Dust is an end-game currency that can be used to buy special items, or upgrade your Super Trinket! You can get Flux Dust by turning in sets of Flux Trinkets, completing tiers in The Flungeon, or by growing Flux Flax Seeds on your ranch.
- A complete set of 8 trinkets from the same flux can be traded for 8 flux dust.
- Earn one flux dust when you complete a puzzle after you have found all the trinkets for that flux.
Note: Keep in mind that when you turn in sets of Flux trinkets you won’t be able to use them anymore so don’t turn in any trinkets you’re currently using.
